Jeremy Diamond, CNN’s Jerusalem correspondent, described the scene as his cameraman Cyril Theophilos filmed the soldiers placing him in a chokehold and trying to obscure his camera. Israeli settlers had entered the village overnight and assaulted several Palestinians, leaving a 75-year-old Palestinian man beaten, bloody and bruised, requiring hospital treatment. Israeli soldiers then entered the village in the morning and the CNN journalists showed them on top of Abdullah Daraghmeh’s house. Diamond recorded the soldiers admitting that they were supportive of the settlers, with one saying that the village will eventually become a legal settlement.
